Stefka Grigorova - Director

Born on 04.07.1953 in Burgas. History graduate from Veliko Tarnovo University “St.St. Cyril and Methodius”in 1977. She started as a guide in 1978, then a curator in 1982 and since 1991 has been head of “Public Relations” department in the Pleven Historical Museum. She specialized in museum sciences in Sofia university “Kliment Ohridski”, 1988. Since 1998 she has been a member of the Bulgarian Society of Public Relations. She is a correspondent of the specialized publication “Bulletin of the museums in Northwest Bulgaria”. Author of scientific and popular articles in the field of education of museum visitors.

Ph.D. Ivan Raichev - Head of “Nature” Department

Born on 01.01.1956 in the village of Valchitran, Pleven region. Biology and ecology graduate from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”in 1978. He began working as a guide in 1980, then in 1984 he became a curator and since 1986 he has been the head of “Nature” department in Pleven Historical Museum. In 1986 he defended a dissertation and was conferred Ph.D degree in biology. In 1987 he was elected senior research worker. His scientific work is in the field of the fauna, taxonomy, behaviors, season dynamics, zoogeographical distribution and economis significance of Coleoptera species of Staphylinidae family. He has reported 78 staphylinidae species, new not only to Bulgaria but to the Balkan and European fauna as well. He has described three species new to the world science found in Bulgaria . He is the author of over 30 specialized scientific articles, published in Bulgaria, Germany, Spain and China and of over 100 popular articles in the local and central press. He is a member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, of the European Association in Coleopterology (1989) with main office in Barcelona and of the World Directory in Ethnobiology (1990) with main office in Honolulu. He works actively in the non-governmental sector as author and co-author, he is a member of “Clean Nature” ecological movement and “Open Society” club in Pleven.

Peter Banov - Head of “Archaeology” Department

Born on 03.11.1949 in the village of Bial kladenetz, Burgas region. History graduate from Veliko Tarnovo University “St.St. Cyril and Methodius”in1975. From 1975 to 1987 he was a curator, senior curator and head of “Archeology “ department in the Regional Historical Museum in the town of Sliven. He was a curator (1987), head of “Archeology” department (1991) and senior curator (1992) in Pleven Historical Museum. He is the author of scientific and popular publications in the field of Thracian cult monuments, antique fortifications, archeoastronomy and Roman numismatics. Member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria. He contributes to periodical press.

Sonia Kinova - Head of “Ethnography” Department

Born on 03.02.1952 in Pleven. History graduate from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”in 1976. Began as a guide in 1977, and since 1977 has been a curator in “Ethnography” department in Pleven Historical Museum. She works in the field of material and spiritual culture of Pleven population in XIX and XX c. Contributes to periodical press.

Olga Petrova - Head of “Bulgarian Revival” Department

Born on 25.07.1955 in Pleven. History graduate from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”in 1981. Worked as a teacher and educator from 1981 to 1982. In 1983 she started working as a guide, 1984 became a curator in “Public relations” department, and in 1987 a curator in “Bulgarian Revival” department in Pleven Historical Museum. Since 1994 she has worked as head of “Bulgarian Revival” department. Author of scientific and popular articles in the field of the Bulgarian Revival.

Natasha Hinkova - Head of “New History” Department

Born on 06.05.1950 in Lovech. History graduate from Sofia University “Kliment Ohridski”in 1979. Since 1980 has worked as a curator in ‘New History” department in Pleven Historical Museum. Her research work is related to issues of cultural development of the town in the years of socialism.

Krassimir Petrov - curator of “New History” Department

Born on 23.10.1953 in Pleven. History graduate from Veliko Tarnovo University “St.St. Cyril and Methodius”. Since 1978 has worked in “New History” department in Pleven Historical Museum.His research work is related to issues of the political and cultural history of Pleven, the participation of IV infantry Pleven regiment in the wars for national unification (1885,1912-18). Author of a series of scientific and popular publications. Member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria.

Born on 05.01.1953 in Pleven. Finished “Julius Fuchik” technical school in polygraphy and photography in Sofia in 1978. Until 1986 worked as a photographer and in unprofessional cinema - as a cinema club instructor. Since 1986 he has worked as a cameraman in Pleven Historical Museum.

Born on 24.07.1967 in Sofia. Finished Secondary Specialized Art School for Applied Arts in the town of Troyan. Specialty: ceramics. Since 1989 he has worked as a restorer in Pleven Historical Museum. Theology graduate of “St.St. Cyril and Methodius” University, 1996. Author of the present site.
