Rich collections are kept in the stock of the museum. Among the exhibits there are tetradrachams of the island of Thasos and the First Macedonian Region; Roman republican denars; Roman imperial aces; sesterces; denars, antonines and folles; rare coins of medieval Bulgarian kings; paper money and coins of the contemporary Bulgarian state.



Tetradrachmas of the island of Thasos,
a collective find of 116 coins, silver, II - I c. B.C.,
diam. 3,2 cm., the village of Brestovetz. Inv. No 3399.
The coins were found at the end of 1993.

Coin of king Ivan Assen II /1218-1241/, diam. 3 cm., the town of Pleven. Inv.No H 3424. The coin is schifate-shaped, representative of the first coin-minting of a Bulgarian king.


 

Coins of king Ivan Alexander with Mihail /1331-1355/, silver, diam. 1,9 cm., the town of Pleven. Inv. No 1201 . Part of a collective find, consisting of 22 coins, found in “Storgozia” fortress.
