The exposition in the “New History” section presents the historical development of Pleven immediately after the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman oppression until the 70-ies of XX c. (1878-1970).

339 authentic exhibits and 96 photos are displayed on an area of 800 square meters and are arranged in 4 main topics:

1. Pleven after the Liberation, 1878-1908

2. IV infantry Pleven regiment in the wars for territorial unification of Bulgaria (1885, 1912-13, 1915-18)

3. Cultural development of Pleven

4. Pleven musical glory

They show the first state and cultural institutions in the town, the administrative changes, the economic life and the participation of Pleven people in the wars for territorial unification, their role in the national and European culture.
